What is business-use %, and how does the app work it out?
The short answer
It’s the share of your car’s kilometres driven for work. It decides how much of your car costs you can claim. WorthMile compares the kilometres on your shifts with how far the car moved between odometer readings.
Once your shifts’ own odometer readings are 30 days or more apart, it uses those. Before that, it uses the readings on your fill-ups, or your car’s odometer from when you set it up. With none of these, it can’t work it out yet.
Until your 90-day logbook is set, it’s a live estimate that moves as you log.
Driving during a pause is kept out of your business km when the app records it: see Pause for when it can and can’t.
